If you were from a fairly well off family in Britain , France, Germany,could you get out of fighting in WWI?

At first Britain didn't practice forced conscription, so yes you could then, but later towards the end of the war they had to start conscription. The upper cl and lower cl were often the ones enlisted, because they did not have jobs that were important to the war effort. Many skilled workers could get out of service if they worked at a job that the government considered necessary to the war effort (like a weapons factory). Hope this helped you.
