Do you think Lady Gaga is empowering women, or degrading them?

I may be biased because I am a huge Lady Gaga fan but to me she's saying I can dress provocatively and still be empowering, I can embrace my uality and still be successful; why is a woman called a slut or a because she chooses to to wear something a bit revealing (I know Lady Gaga pushes revealing the extreme but I also feel that's part of whatever statement she's making with her song/music)..isn't that judging a book based on its cover? She may be trying to convey the concept of a woman who isn't afraid of her uality, who's in charge of it and therefore feels comfortable with showing it off. Lady Gaga always links her fashion to her music so maybe the goal isn't at all, it's her expression of her music and it isn't her fault if she's objectified or castigated for it.
