Do men and women talk differently?

Men usually mull things over in their head, organize their ideas, and then speak. We speak to communicate ideas, negotiate compromises, and secure cooperation. Women are trying to organize their ideas as they speak. So it feels like they're scribbling all over the page to arrive at the answer. I got in trouble many times for not being able to keep up with girls babbling and babbling and babbling for hours before it becomes clear what she is trying to say...
